Quick Guide to Twitter Terms:

tweet = when you post a message
follow = someone who's post you want to read when they post them
follower = someone who has chosen to follow and read what you post when you post
DM = Direct message which is a post sent directly to one of your followers and no one else can see it
hashtag = a 'tag' (eg #sandhustict) to put to a tweet so you can search related posts
retweet = when you forward/share a post by someone else to your followers
search = the ability to look for people or hashtags to find other posts/users
